Five Weirs Walk Sheffield | ||
| Welcome to the Five Weirs Walk website. | |||
| The Five Weirs Walk is an 8km path from Sheffield City Centre to Meadowhall along the banks of the River Don. It connects to the Sheffield and Tinsley canal towpath, the Upper Don Walk, the riverside path to Rotherham and the Trans Pennine Trail. | |||
| Five Weirs is ideal for walkers, cyclists, anglers, canoeists and those fascinated by the rich history of the lower Don Valley. It is accessible to disabled users. Several schools have based projects on different aspects of the walk. | |||
| You may be familiar with The Five Weirs Walk, or you may be planning your first visit. Whichever, we hope that you will find something of interest on this site. | |||
| We have had one or two problems recently resulting from vandalism and flood damage but the walk has now RE-OPENED. The Washford Bridge / East Coast Road section is passable with care and is NOT SUITABLE for wheelchairs until some repairs can be undertaken. See the Latest news section for details of the next clean-up. | |||
